Allotment #4

May 21, 2010

Allotment #4 : 29th & 30th of May @ Govan Cross Shopping Centre : 8pm : £5

Tapehead are going to be playing 3 improv sets each night with a few special guests spread across them, including members of dBass, The One Ensemble & Moon Unit. I think we’re going to be trying to create a bit of synergy between the music & live looksees provided by visual artists Fergus Dunnet, Justin Eade & Jenny Soep.

We like to jam. We’re going to jam.

Allotment is a pretty special event run by The National Theatre of Scotland.

Here’s what they’re saying to it:

Allotment is back for the final time! This time we’re making more games, intimate experiences, live music and performances than ever before. With a total of 16 groups of artists in the shop and over 3 secret locations it’s going to be an extra hot ticket.

Dbass and Inspector Tapehead will be playing live. There will be a human powered carousel made by George Thompson and Jen Sykes, which is a bit like a roundabout if you can brave a spin after visiting the bar. You could fall in love with a stranger through a scientific Love Calculator. Paul Maguire (who made the giant floor Pong game in Allotment 2) is creating a Text Adventure for twitter style social networking. Robbie Thomson and Colin Ferguson (who created the rain and the pianos in the last Allotment) are working on a secret site in Govan with… robots!

The Next Train For Jonnie Common Leaves From Platform…

May 7, 2010

I recently signed up at Central Station.

Not THE central station. (I’m not a particular fan of overpriced cornish pasties and teenage goths).

Central Station, the creative social network: www.thisiscentralstation.com

I have been shortlisted for the Savalas Project and my Audio Emporium promo is one of today’s featured works.

So far, it’s proving to be about 1,000,000 times more productive than faceboob.
